Topic outline

  • Welcome to NZ Moodle Moot and H5P workshops 2019

Tuesday 1st - Thursday 3rd October 2019, at Unitec, Auckland.
    • We are aiming for a paperless conference again - so the programme is available as a .pdf, and will be updated weekly. So check it for updates, and save a copy on your smartphone / tablet / laptop to bring to the event.

  • Welcome

  • Submit a presentation

    • The biggest single factor affecting the success of an event like this is the quality and variety of presenters.  Remember, you don't have to be an expert to share your knowledge! Practical experience and helping others is just as important as presenting research and academic content.
The database below is for adding presentations ideas and workshop elements that you can offer - everyone can add Comments and Rate ideas, and this will help us finalise the programme.  Acceptance of proposals will be made during early September and are selected to provide an overall balance of the programme, and to ensure there is 'something of value for everyone'.
    • Submissions are now closed.
Thanks to everyone for such a high-quality and varied selection!  If you would like to submit a late presentation/workshop for special consideration please contact stuart[AT]hrdnz.com.

  • H5P workshops - Tuesday 1st October

    • H5P makes it easy to create rich and interactive web experiences, responsive and mobile friendly. All you need is your browser and Moodle. H5P is free and open like Moodle, and integrates seamlessly into Moodle as a new activity type.
There are two full day workshops on Tuesday 1st October:
      1. For those new to H5P, who want to understand what H5P can do, and how to best use within Moodle.
      2. For those already using H5P, who want to extend their knowledge and experience with advanced and new functionality.
  • Moodle Moot community day - Wednesday 2nd October

    • The main Moodle community day is Wednesday 2nd October. We are using a large theatre at Unitec for keynotes, and featuring a variety of PechaKucha, 15 minute and 30 minute presentations in break-out rooms, covering diverse areas of Moodle, with something for everyone.
    • Presenters include...

  • Social-networking

    • Please help promote this year's event by using one of the following social-networking tools. Post to Twitter using the hashtag #mootnz19  and/or join the New Zealand Moodle Users Facebook Group. Both channels are great for communication leading up to and during the conference (organising social events), sharing photos, etc.

  • Social events

    • Holding this year's event in Auckland we are conscious that many attendees will be travelling home to spend evenings with their families, and Auckland traffic doesn't improve! So we are not organising a conference dinner, but instead facilitating a number of smaller social get-togethers that people can self-select.
  • Registration and fees

    • Once you have registered you will receive an enrolment key to the 'Attendees only' area.  This has further support materials, discussion boards, networking information, additional resources etc.
